The Zen of being one with your machine. I personally like the sound of nature rather than the sound of heavy equipment, but it sure does come in handy.
Please forgive me for this, but….sunblock?
May 30th, 2010 @ 12:04 pm
Do you have a rule whereby Mike has to have his shirt off in all pics of him? If not, please institute right away! Rawr!
May 30th, 2010 @ 12:24 pm
Can we have that in “large” please?
Also, someone quickly send Shreve a telephoto lens!
:)
May 30th, 2010 @ 12:39 pm
haha, I don’t think all of us ladies should be drooling and oogling Shreve’s man!
May 30th, 2010 @ 12:59 pm
Au contraire, dear Maggie! I read them to Mike and he blushes. And smiles.

Can’t really address the question of male aesthetics myself (being hetero male), except to say I admire his working-man’s tan.
On the subject of his toy, heh, yeah… My family ranch recently got a new backhoe. The pleasure and skill our foremen showed while testing it was funny and impressive.
@Steph in Oregon: I’m with you on that subject. The other day it was a great relief to clean up leaves at one of my part-time jobs with a rake and NOT the blower that I usually use. It usually saves so much time the noise and stink is worth it, but when a rake and some sweat can do a smaller job in the same time, the blower can SIT there…

Boy with THAT toy = very handy to have around. On the other hand, THAT boy, well…’nuff said :>]]
May 30th, 2010 @ 6:53 pm

May 30th, 2010 @ 7:32 pm

May 30th, 2010 @ 11:20 pm
That poor man! He is not a piece of meat! Mike, I’m with you during your time of oppression brother!

Around here we call them “big boy toys” and the guys just keep finding reasons to start them up and “play” in the dirt.

May 31st, 2010 @ 10:00 am

June 1st, 2010 @ 10:17 am
what a gorgeous couple, these two. shreve obviously believes in keeping a little mystery….though someday we may have a full view of this Mike who was once “my man” and then “MC”. all in all, a wonderful union of a beautiful and immensely talented and intelligent young woman, and a rugged, exceptional man. ;)
June 1st, 2010 @ 11:27 am
OMG wait *reads shreve’s comment*
i’ve been dieing to know for years now… is mike “your man”. always write about him and your work together but.. always wanted to know if there was more…
June 1st, 2010 @ 11:35 am
Oh the wonder of a fellow on a backhoe.
RW, back in the days of low desert Arizona, logged many hours on one of those things. His tan was just as good.
:)

June 2nd, 2010 @ 9:53 pm
So true – and the bigger the toy, the happier the boy!
June 4th, 2010 @ 3:53 pm
Okay, let me get this straight…I buy a motorcycle, ride it through some gorgeous country waaaaay out in the boonies and there is a muscled, hunka hunka burnin’ love lurking in the landscape waiting to be found? If this is correct, my vacation is planned.
June 17th, 2013 @ 7:33 pm
So cool! FYI, your tweets are not showing up on your blogs.
June 19th, 2013 @ 12:37 pm
Though we’ve never seen his face, Mike is a stone-cold fox. Total dreamboat.
