It’s not only beautiful – but edible, as well.

The colors nature produces are amazing.

I really hope there’s going to be a how-to on this masterpiece as I would, one day, really love to build one of these fantastic stone patios.
Lichen is beautiful by the way :)

You continue to rock…sorry. Lichen is so beautiful. When I lived in Seattle I was the only person I knew who *tried* to grow moss…everyone else was trying to get rid of it. But I love moss-covered patios and garden paths. No chance of that now since I live in the desert.

Shreve, you never cease to amaze me. I love how creative you are, and how self sufficent you are. More people should learn to be like you! :)

Awesome!
I have taken a likin’ to lichen myself lately, after learning that some can take literally thousands of years to grow an inch!

Have you read The Wild Trees by Richard Preston? Redwoods… lots of previously unknown lichen… it’s a really good and interesting read. I didn’t realize just how pretty lichen is while I was reading though.
