Love the motion blur on the tail! “Hi mom!”
September 16th, 2010 @ 9:40 am
Chloe has grown up to be an exquisite girl!! Beautiful markings, I love her mask, and just a hint of curl in her tail.
I can never get over how RED the dirt is there!! How is it shes covered?(Most the time she seems quite clean.)
September 16th, 2010 @ 9:51 am
I was just going to comment on the red dirt. We have it here in Prince Edward Island, as well. It’s amazing how pink all of our white creatures are!
I like the straw shelter – I must try that.

Awww! She’s so grown up!
September 16th, 2010 @ 10:15 am
Aaaww what a nice expression on her face!
A dog’s face and eyes can say a million things all at once. I love looking into my dog’s eyes and them look back at me with tons of love and appreciation. <3
I love the idea of the straw shelter-saw that picture today on the Daily Coyote of Charlie in his. It’s a great idea and I think I may try it for my 3 dogs this winter.
I live in Ontario Canada and they are predicting a long, cold and very snowy winter this year…a straw shelter would be great.

Sweet Chloe!! She looks so happy and ready for action!!
September 16th, 2010 @ 12:40 pm
She was a little sausage not so long ago, Charlie was this giant and we were worried she would not hold her own, well she showed him. Ok, what about Ricardo, Sisco and Daisy, any new picture and any good news in the baby department ?

Chloe is a very pretty dog. I like her designer Wyoming mud. Red is much prettier than then brown here in Washington State.
September 16th, 2010 @ 2:43 pm
that is one dirty dog. down here in the desert we are happy to see summer winding down. but i know a lot of you up north will miss it. seems like yesterday that Sir Baby was being chased by all the girls and Shreve was chasing tractor trailer rigs comin home.
thanks for the moments in time you share Ms. Stockton. your daily musings remind me of getting a postcard from a far away place and it transports you there if only for a moment.
hey isn’t that a postal stamp in your honey rock dawn logo? sure is.
nice feather in your new etsy shop button. is that a hawk feather? we sure are nosy huh. just don’t put ‘wish you were here’ on your posts or you will end up with a boat load of peeps over for dinner. kinda scary bein a celebrity huh.
happy Fall everyone.

I too love the straw shelter idea. Can you give us more info on it? Do you use two on each side and one on the back? Just curious think I am gonna try it for my pups this winter. They hate traditional dog houses, but love to be out on cool fall and winter nights.
September 16th, 2010 @ 4:18 pm
I keep meaning to remark about all the Chloe/Charlie playing photos to say: Chloe is one dirty fighter! She’s always chomping tails or doing the sneak attack! Or do the pictures lie?
September 16th, 2010 @ 5:01 pm
“What do you MEAN, ‘Have I been playing in the mud?'”
Chloe is such a pretty girl :D
Having a dog that is ALSO white all over, save for his black mask(just like Chloe’s) and a few blotches on his back, I know just how it is to have a monochrome dog that, half of the time, isn’t monochrome! Spot especially loves hunting for moles and rolling around in muddy ecstasy. Oh, to be a dog!
September 16th, 2010 @ 8:32 pm
What a pretty girl! I have a solid white Siberian Husky who loves to get covered in the Georgia Clay…makes for very interesting times.
September 17th, 2010 @ 6:47 am
Chloe has grown so much! :O)
She’s beautiful Shreve. *sigh* The dirty? The dirty looks very familiar to me!
September 17th, 2010 @ 3:55 pm
You can tell she’s completely at home playing in the mud, surround by others that love her (canine, bovine, equine, and of course people–mom!). It looks like it was only a momentary pause before getting her coat further covered.
When mine rolls in the mud or scat he LOVES to run to be to share his excitement “Mom, look/smell! This stuff is great.”
Do Chloe and Charlie do the same?
September 17th, 2010 @ 3:56 pm
Just have to smile at the picture because she looks sooooo happy! Fun to play and get dirty! we all like that!
September 17th, 2010 @ 10:50 pm
She is so proud of herself.
(My Dad gets green wood from a local stump grinder who is paid to take out trees, for various reasons, but doesn’t want the wood or to be bothered cutting and selling it. My Dad piles it in the backyard to dry and a year or two later it’s ready to burn. He has been able to have free firewood for years this way. Keeps the wood out of the landfill and the stump grinder doesn’t have to pay to dispose of it. Everyone is happy.)

I wuv her.
I think she thinks it’s rouge – a girl needs her makeup now and then, and I think it is truly stunning.
Rolled around in a mud pile w/my younger brother when I was 4 – have the pics, but mostly have the complete & vivid memory of it. One of the most fun things I’ve ever done. Are you ever tempted just to say “what they hey,” plop on the ground and roll around with her?
