Sooo precious! Happy Mother’s Day all!
May 8th, 2011 @ 12:42 pm
D ~ no, I don’t…. she hates getting wet, even with a spray bottle, even with a wet cloth; she gallops away. so I leave it to the rain, and the dew on the grass in the mornings. and I don’t post pictures of her after she’s laid down right on top of a fresh cow pie and her entire haunch is green. it’s not cute. :)

Happy mom’s day, Shreve..you ARE the mother of all of the farmily! The care you give and love you have for each of your group is so much more than humans receive sometimes. :-)
Hope your weather is as perfect as ours is today in Chicago.

May 8th, 2011 @ 5:17 pm
When you go to look up “placid” in the dictionary, there should just be a picture of Daisy there.
May 8th, 2011 @ 6:50 pm
Yes, she is.
I just love her.
Isn’t she going to be a Mom again real soon? Wasn’t it May?
Can’t wait. Baby baby baby.

Daisy is one lucky cow and, frankly, so are all of MC’s, too. He lets them live out their natural lives. She is a stunner.

Shreve, I’m sorry to post this here, but I though you might find this interesting: http://tinyurl.com/42qhgts. It’s about celiac disease.

A short story:
The guy who did the foundation work for the house here in Maine had a happening. I had noticed a young bull in his front yard and asked “Why?”
He was in his front yard doing some some work and a pickup truck came barreling by and a young bull was in the back, the truck and hit a nasty frost heave( pronounced Heeviee) and the bull fell off the back and was laying in the ditch unmoving, Don picked him up and got him in his yard and called the vet. The truck had rolled on. The vet looked over the road rash and pronounced him fine just shaken and to look after the scrapes. Don did. He was keeping the bull in the front yard so the owner if he came back could claim him. The guy showed up a few months later and Don told the story. The owner gave Don the bull for his troubles. Don named the bull Skidder or in Maine parlance Skiddah!

Hermit… great story!
The contrast between the two is great! Such a sweet pic.

Ah Daisy, you are a poem to serenity! And yes, she totally rocks the Earth Mother title, green butt and all!! snicker
I also love the little nubbies showing through on ‘lil black cow!
May 9th, 2011 @ 2:46 pm
Lovely duo. Happy Mom’s Day indeed, to all out there.
How hilarious, that she hates having water sprayed on her. An image instantly came to mind: an slightly-soiled Daisy cantering away from a very determined blonde with spray bottle and camera in hand…
@ montanarose: that hypothetical dictionary would have her picture next to “serene” too :).
May 9th, 2011 @ 4:18 pm
What a lovely picture. Isn’t Daisy due to have a calf soon?
May 9th, 2011 @ 8:15 pm
