And to those wondering about the dynamics between Charlie & Chloe & the cats:
Charlie and Chloe immediately categorized these new felines as Eli’s Tribe.
Canines defer.  Even to kittens!

Even a pro like Shreve can’t resist the squee-ness of kittens in baskets!!

that is FASCINATING about Chloe and Charlie. Charlie could snap those kittens in half if he wanted to. I always loved, loved LOVED hearing about Charlie’s wishes that Eli would just love him and how he’d bow to Eli. Just wonderful. It’s one great big happy furfamily then!

Cat owners know that “cats rule.” Your babies are beautifully marked. Cats are so creative in their sleeping locations. Not always convenient but fun.

sweet pictures – what cute little babies! that is an interesting dynamic – especially for Charlie – but it does make sense! And now the felines outnumber the canines.

How is Daisy doing?? Any sign of calf coming into the world yet?

Beautiful pics. I have a big Black Lab and three cats. In our house also, the cats rule.

Yup…93 lb. Stella-dog is ruled (ashamedly) by 10 lb. Trey-you cat. A sad sad thing to see…unless you bother to see how happy the two of them are together.

That is simply too much cuteness in 3 little baskets. I can’t stand it!

It makes me love Charlie and Chloe even more that the kittens are safe with them.

These pictures are so sweet! The kittens clearly love having their pictures taken.

Charlie is such a sweetie & that’s amazing he has taken to all of the new farmily members.

Thanks for sharing & take care,

Awwww! So adorable. We have 2 stray outdoor cats that adopted us. The male only tolerates my 20 lb mutt, and is scared to death of the larger dogs. The female cat is just a badass. She’ll saunter into the back yard where the big dogs are and very calmly slap ’em around. My mutt she plays with.

Canines can be hilarious. I have 3 cats and an 80 lb dog. One day my dog was sleeping on his bed when 2 of the 3 cats came up to him. One of them meowed sweetly to the dog, and the dog got up out of HIS bed and slept on the floor. The cats then took over his bed. Poor pups! (: If there is a cat on the couch cushion that the dog wants to sleep on he rests his head on the cushion until I move the cat for him. If I leave the cat there, he doesn’t jump up. (:

Cats know that the best defense is a good offense and most important to stand their ground and project their attitude. If they run all bets are off with dogs and they become prey.

Hmmm ,is the new arrival “grey”, must get out my paint box and mix some colors. Glad it’s a girl. All are safe and sound I presume?

Canines defer. And that is how it should be :)

My dog is very coyote-like. She tolerates very few other dogs, but adores/defers to adults, children and cats.

Rue is definitely enjoying all the benefits of motherhood, and she should. From what you’ve described about her life before she adopted you, she more than paid her tuition at the Academy of Survival.

That said, great photos of healthy, happy cats. And thanks for the clarification about the canine reaction.

Do you have a picture of Charlie in a box? I’m doing a series of
“Meet My Box-Loving Friends”. I think my blogging friends would go crazy seeing Charlie in a box. (With links, of course.) My Mom is Margaret from “May the Furs be With You”.)
Those are cute kitties, by the way!

If Kettle still tries to sleep with Mama Rue when she’s grown, you’ll need a bigger basket!
    Darling pics– thank you!
