That’s a picture from a cellphone?! Holy yowza!
It’s probably the photographer’s magic touch ;)
July 11th, 2011 @ 6:31 pm
Wow, I’m jealous.
July 11th, 2011 @ 6:33 pm
AWESOME! will you be getting your mail by carrier pigeon? love it, this is what memories will be made from!
July 11th, 2011 @ 6:45 pm
Oh, it’ll do. It’ll do.
July 11th, 2011 @ 6:50 pm
just goes to show it’s never the camera, always the photographer.
July 11th, 2011 @ 7:18 pm
Well that doesn’t suck at all! ;-)
July 11th, 2011 @ 7:23 pm
I hear glorious Copeland in my head. I suspect he will provide most of the soundtrack as I follow your summer adventure on the mountain. xo/b
July 11th, 2011 @ 7:33 pm
Shreve, I was bragging about you this past week! I am so jealous that you have the freedom you have! Your summer home is simply beautiful! Paul and I are coming to S. Dakota in 3 weeks! I will get to experience a small part of your life!! Tina
July 11th, 2011 @ 8:06 pm
So, are you all moved in… er… out? Ya’ gotta’ do a LOT o’ breathin’ to take in all that fresh air!
July 11th, 2011 @ 8:07 pm
tina – you MUST stop in at the Horseshoe Bar in Interior SD if you’re going to the Badlands – and tell Greg (the owner) HI from me!
July 11th, 2011 @ 8:10 pm
WOW! That’s awesome for a cell phone picture.
Even when I did have a cell phone, it never took pictures that were that good. ^^
July 11th, 2011 @ 8:15 pm
yowza! gorgeous!
July 11th, 2011 @ 8:22 pm
Wow! Seeing that makes me hope I come back as part of your farmily. Wish my cell phone took that good of pictures, mine are always fuzzy and look horrid.
July 11th, 2011 @ 8:34 pm
Good Goddess, that is beautiful!
July 11th, 2011 @ 8:40 pm
Lovely! Peaceful!
July 11th, 2011 @ 9:00 pm
is it the iPhone?
July 11th, 2011 @ 9:13 pm
It looks like the old windows background (=
July 11th, 2011 @ 9:16 pm
C ~ oh hell no! it’s some $35 basic phone….
July 11th, 2011 @ 10:09 pm
Great shot. Great view. Lucky girl.
July 11th, 2011 @ 10:20 pm
A cell phone picture? Holy cow, that is amazing! I need whatever phone you have. :)
July 12th, 2011 @ 5:11 am
Wow. I hope you take lots more pics. I bet it’s quiet too.
July 12th, 2011 @ 7:36 am
true, but it would certainly be hard to make that scene look less than perfect on any image-making device!
July 12th, 2011 @ 7:38 am
Hmmmm, well mayyybeeee you could keep it intact after your return but ONLY for mobile pictures. I think I need some therapy for my feelings about cell phones OR maybe everyone else does.
Re your farmily tree, that’s quite a group you have going. I didn’t realize that Daisy had Jersey in her, that’s my favorite breed because of their huge gentle brown eyes.
July 12th, 2011 @ 7:40 am
Beautiful!!!
July 12th, 2011 @ 8:23 am
Aaahhh, Bliss!!!!!
July 12th, 2011 @ 8:25 am
You mean you don’t take all your photos on your cell phone? What other device is there?
;)
Enjoy the summer!
July 12th, 2011 @ 8:53 am
just beautiful. what a wonderful place to wake up too :) Tina: not sure what part of S.D you are headed but near the Wyoming/South Dakota border by Sundance, Wyoming there is a place call ‘CEment Ridge’. it is a historic Fire Tower. The roads are Forest Roads but clearly marked-The road up to tower is just dirt but dry and passable this time of year. Once up there, you have a 360 view of Wyoming and S.D
shreve, thank you for sharing your adventures with us
peace
July 12th, 2011 @ 8:59 am
WOW!
July 12th, 2011 @ 9:33 am

July 12th, 2011 @ 10:04 am
I am impressed, great quality picture.
July 12th, 2011 @ 10:14 am
Blue skies and amber sunshine…as far as I can see…It’s just me and sweet baby…and that’s just fine with me. Song, yes. Picture perfect.
July 12th, 2011 @ 10:28 am
So gorgeous and peaceful. I’m going to stare at it all day and pretend I’m there instead of sitting here at my crappy desk at my crappy job… LOL Sorry. I was feeling crabby until I looked at the pic :D
July 12th, 2011 @ 11:17 am
yes, it’s beyond gorgeous!
but what i can’t help but wonder, is how you find everyone in all that open space at the end of the season.
July 12th, 2011 @ 11:54 am
If you hadn’t have said it was a cellphone I never would have known.
Funny, when you said up to the mountains, I expected trees.
July 12th, 2011 @ 11:56 am
one word…..JEALOUS!!! :-)
btw.. those are cows in the background?
July 12th, 2011 @ 12:08 pm
Sara: Ha, I was just going to say that!
“Wait a minute, you’re living in Windows for the summer? When did the Singularity happen?” ^_^
Looks fab, Shreve!
July 12th, 2011 @ 12:31 pm
You are approaching the Full Moon too, Shreve. I just cannot imagine!
July 12th, 2011 @ 2:05 pm

July 12th, 2011 @ 4:16 pm
If the picture is this glorious, I can only imagine the reality to be beyond words.
Good lord, I am envious…
Will be eagerly waiting to hear of your experiences and your observations and interpretations of life up there!
July 12th, 2011 @ 4:18 pm
I also thought of the Windows background when I saw this. Great picture for a cell phone, thanks for sharing with us.
July 12th, 2011 @ 4:27 pm
Dang good.
July 12th, 2011 @ 5:14 pm
Shreve, I thought only us Canadians say ‘eh’. We are known for that, brought me a chuckle. Gorgeous picture.
July 12th, 2011 @ 5:51 pm
Gee, I don’t know how you will survive all that beauty. LOL I loved your response to the ‘is it and Iphone’ question. :) Have fun. I am melting in Mississippi heatwave ’11.
July 12th, 2011 @ 7:07 pm
Wow. Breathtaking. Thank you for sharing.
July 12th, 2011 @ 8:10 pm

July 12th, 2011 @ 9:46 pm
This is gorgeous! Nice use of the camera on the phone!
July 13th, 2011 @ 5:18 am
You area a modern day Thoreau. Will you ever be able to come back down to civilization? Enjoy!
July 13th, 2011 @ 9:25 am
Shreve~
I love it! I just got back from a 2 week trip. I drove from Arizona to Rapid City SD, then to Williston ND, then to Harvey ND, then to Spokane Washington, and then back home to Arizona! I drove a little way into Wyoming on the way and I thought about you and Charlie and the whole farmily. Enjoy your summer! :) I can’t wait to see more pictures and hear more about it.
July 13th, 2011 @ 10:01 am
you are making me long for vacation.
:)
July 13th, 2011 @ 2:05 pm
OK, but who’s going to mow all that?
July 13th, 2011 @ 4:31 pm
I’d love to be standing in your shoes. Peace it is. I have to thank you for keeping your websites up in your new surroundings. Charlie and the farmily bring joy to my day!
July 13th, 2011 @ 4:55 pm
Been thinking of you with all those severe storm warnings out and about… Get any rain/hail? Lightning cracking your eardrums up there? ;-)
July 14th, 2011 @ 6:26 am
Carol ~ ???
Nothing major on this end of the mtn…
July 14th, 2011 @ 11:28 am
I have wondered the same thing, glad you’re safe. Here in the metro Denver area, we have had severe thunderstorms almost every night this week, and last night’s included a little hail. The monsoons came early this year, they say!
July 15th, 2011 @ 12:38 pm
OT but Fiona really reminds me of the Angus heifer my father gave me for Christmas when I was ten. I was then obsessed with Flicka so thus she was named and by the time I was done with her she was a pocket pet LOL…really miss her.
July 15th, 2011 @ 3:31 pm
Awesome! I drove cross-country with a friend in early May and was very surprised at the high quality pictures my cellphone took, as well.
July 18th, 2011 @ 3:59 pm
Wow this is beautiful!
