August 5th, 2011 @ 9:01 am
I like ’em… but your feathers still win! ;-)
August 5th, 2011 @ 9:07 am
Stunning!! How did you accomplish this? Surely these aren’t phone pics… And the black background — is that post-processing, or what?
August 5th, 2011 @ 9:12 am
K ~ I used my regular camera – the black background is in the image, acheived via light falloff with the morning light…
August 5th, 2011 @ 9:26 am
Oh wow…these are just GORGEOUS! I love the second and thirds shots especially.
August 5th, 2011 @ 9:26 am
These would make an absolutely stunning series of prints to decorate my home with…
I don’t think I’ve ever commented, but I’ve been reading for a while, and your posts always bring light into my day. Thank you.

Interesting. I’ve never seen wildflower close-ups in sepia-tone before. Unusual, but I think I’d have preferred black & white or color.
August 5th, 2011 @ 10:14 am
wow… soooo beautiful… :)
August 5th, 2011 @ 10:30 am
My breath caught in my throat when these loaded on my RSS feeder – gorgeous. Is it possible to order prints when you get back from the wilderness?
August 5th, 2011 @ 10:37 am
Beautiful! Superb composition; they’d make excellent prints. =) Sometimes your photos remind me of Beth Moon, one of my favorite photographers: http://bethmoon.com/
August 5th, 2011 @ 10:39 am
I love them they almost look like snowflakes. Love them all.
August 5th, 2011 @ 11:05 am
Whoa… love the black and white (and gray) colors. Your photography is so original and beautiful.
August 5th, 2011 @ 11:10 am
Reminiscent of Mapplethorpe’s Pistils.
August 5th, 2011 @ 11:22 am
Daily Coyote is my home page. Whenever I fire up the ol’ computer for whatever business I have that day, I start it off with the sweet, simple, joyous, glorious reminder of all that is good in the world. Thank you.
August 5th, 2011 @ 12:14 pm

Impressive Shreve…yes the harebell is so cool with the moisture on it…..I can’t even imagine what the settings would have been….

August 5th, 2011 @ 5:30 pm
Stunning!
August 5th, 2011 @ 7:23 pm
Who do you get your pictures printed through? I’ve been searching for a place to print mine other than the usual avenues (like Snapfish and whatnot). I’d love to be able to sell some of my own photography (someday), but obviously it would be a sin to do so on sub-par paper.
August 5th, 2011 @ 10:03 pm
lovely! absolutely lovely!
August 5th, 2011 @ 10:17 pm
Ooooo so beautiful! Please do add these to the shop when you return from your adventures! :)

August 6th, 2011 @ 7:18 am
These photos are gorgeous!
August 6th, 2011 @ 8:37 am
Kate ~ ALWAYS a custom print shop. If you live in/near a city there will be a print shop or two that caters to professional photographers. Go there.
August 6th, 2011 @ 8:43 am
You sound like me Patr and I crack myself up sometimes too. Nice of Shreve to provide us with a sound board.
Glad those super pictures were taken with your ‘real’ camera Shreve, was thinking I might have to get a cell phone otherwise. What a relief!!
August 6th, 2011 @ 10:07 am
Shreve:
My husband is an avid black and white photographer and we both love these prints. What would you charge us to email us the high res files – he has the equipment to do archival prints.
I can promise they would only be used for our wall and we would not sell or pass along to anyone else.
If you prefer to wait, we perfectly understand and will sit back patiently for you to sell them through your shop.
Thanks,
Sandy
August 6th, 2011 @ 10:53 am
S ~ I can’t email high res from here!
August 6th, 2011 @ 10:55 am
I thought that might be a problem! Happy to wait!
August 6th, 2011 @ 11:28 am

I think you caught a glimpse of the crown of the fairy queen in that third shot there! Thanks for sharing your magical view of the world with us, Shreve, today and always.
August 11th, 2011 @ 2:42 am
These are some of my favorite pictures you’ve ever posted, especially the second one. Just wonderful!!
August 14th, 2011 @ 7:20 pm
Hi, Shreve – These pictures are so beautiful. I’ve been practicing shots using window light (and read your tutorial from last year). Would you be willing to share what camera settings you used and how far away the flowers were from the window? I can’t seem to get my backgrounds to be completely black from the light falloff.
On a completely different subject, I just returned from my first trip to Wyoming (Jackson and Yellowstone) and completely felt the rapture many experience in that rugged, wild, and breathtakingly beautiful land you call home!
