What a beauty! I just want to give him a treat and pet that broad forehead!
Just out of curiosity, now that his horns are so big do you need to be more careful of how he moves them, or is he aware of them enough to be sufficiently careful himself?
I’ve not been around large animals much myself, but know that horses can accidentally step on a foot, and they’ve been using their hooves all their lives. I’m sure Frisco knows the horns are there but does he also know to be careful about where they are relative to where you are as a result?
I know he’s not aggressive or mean, and I really respect that you aren’t changing things that don’t need changing. I’m just curious how he himself handles those impressive knobs on his noggin!

My favorite book as a child was “The Story of Ferdinand,” written by Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson. Ferdinand loved to smell the flowers… this photo reminds me of that book. I love this photo. Thank you for sharing it.

For those of you too young to remember there was a toy called “Weebles” that had rounded bottoms so they never fell over!
I was studying the photo of Frisco w/ those horns and glanced to the top left of webpage and noticed the postage stamp logo – seems a similar proudful farmily. :0)
C. Is he as soft as he looks? Maybe that’s a silly question, but I wonder. I know you said Daisy’s face is really soft, but is she/are cows in general soft all over? Because that’d be awesome. :D

Even not knowing the story behind it, it truly is an arrestingly beautiful photo — you have such an incredible gift, Shreve! One of these days I can see your photos of Wyoming life becoming as iconic as Ansel Adams’ photos of Yosemite are. And no, I’m not just laying it on thick — there’s magic in your photographer’s eye!

Shreve, I just want to let you know that this is one of the most inspiring pictures I have EVER seen! My Arabian let me lay down with her one night while I was babysitting a fire I’d started much earlier that night. She allowed me to sit down and lean against her side as she slept with her mouth resting on my shoe. I waited almost 10 years for that moment. But to see you out there lounging with a bull you consider family on a mountain by yourself is a great reminder to me of all that I want to experience in this life and that I should not let it all fall to the side for even one moment of getting caught up in being busy in this life. Thank you 10,000 times for capturing this breath-taking picture!

He truly looks like some mythological beast. A scarily powerful manifestation of good energy capable of vanquishing energy that’s not so good. I mean, he is awesome!!!!!!

Shreve, I just want to let you know that this is one of the most inspiring pictures I have EVER seen! My Arabian let me lay down with her one night while I was babysitting a fire I’d started much earlier that night. She allowed me to sit down and lean against her side as she slept with her mouth resting on my shoe. I waited almost 10 years for that moment. But to see you out there lounging with a bull you consider family on a mountain by yourself is a great reminder to me of all that I want to experience in this life and that I should not let it all fall to the side for even one moment of getting caught up in being busy in this life. Thank you 10,000 times for capturing this breath-taking picture!
