All kine have beautiful eyes, but his seem especially soft. Maybe it’s the white eyeliner and lashes?
April 12th, 2012 @ 10:01 am
Gorgeous.
April 12th, 2012 @ 10:13 am
I keep meaning to tell you this. I watched the movie Sylvia on Netflix (about the poet Sylvia Plath and her husband poet laureate Ted Hughes) and in one scene they’re in a canoe rowing down a river and they pass a field of cows.
Ted Hughes says, “You know cows are very smart.”
And Sylvia replies, “Really? Which do you think they’d prefer, Chaucer or Shakespeare?”
Hughes says, Chaucer and she stands up and recites 2 verses of Chaucer to the cows.
Years before I read this blog I wouldn’t have thought much about that scene, but now I know Ted Hughes was right!
And Frisco is a very cool Bull dude.

April 12th, 2012 @ 2:52 pm
Tell him he has many admirers!! He certainly is beautiful.
April 12th, 2012 @ 2:53 pm
Wow… incredible juxtaposition of soft velvet and sharp details. Ingenious utilization of light. The eyes, the horns, the ears, and the shape of his majestic head are breathtakingly beautiful. This shot reminds me of that exquisite pic of Flicka.
The shattered GALLON jar – milk and glass go on forEVER. Hate it when that happens…
April 12th, 2012 @ 5:07 pm
such gentle eyes! what a gorgeous animal!
April 12th, 2012 @ 5:19 pm
You can really see the bony dairy breed in him in this picture, can’t you?
April 12th, 2012 @ 6:57 pm

April 12th, 2012 @ 9:06 pm

April 12th, 2012 @ 9:13 pm
I kinda want to rub my face on his ear fluff. So soft…~
I do believe it’s your birthday today. :D Happy birthday, Shreve. <3
April 12th, 2012 @ 9:16 pm
To look into his eyes and say that he has no soul would be like looking into a mirror and say there was no reflection.
Of coarse I do not want to start a fight, it’s just my belief but this photo makes my beliefs even more so strong.
He is gorgeous Shreve. xx
April 13th, 2012 @ 2:35 am
WOW!!! What a beautiful picture!!!
April 13th, 2012 @ 5:18 am

April 13th, 2012 @ 6:34 am
Shreve, I can’t read bovine faces. What does his expression say here?
April 13th, 2012 @ 6:41 am
He has Daisy’s sweet face…. Does he smile like she does? His coat is also so pretty and glowing. Sign that he is one happy bovine that is well cared for.
April 13th, 2012 @ 6:52 am
“Shreve, I’m coming to say hello. How is everything?”
What a stunner.
April 13th, 2012 @ 6:52 am
Bethany I agree animals have souls. Would love to give this big guy a hug. Beautiful picture and sure hope it is in the “shop” someday. Thanks for sharing Shreve

April 16th, 2012 @ 12:44 am

He is pretty!
April 16th, 2012 @ 10:14 am
AWE personified!
April 16th, 2012 @ 1:00 pm
What a stunningly handsome fellow!
April 16th, 2012 @ 3:47 pm
Your skill and subject leave me astonished. As others have already said, the contrasts (soft focus on the background, the texture of his highlighted hide vs. the smooth sharpness of his horns and bright eyes) make the image live.
I can almost feel / hear the soft thud of his footfalls, smell his warm breath. And his body language is so eloquent: expectant, pleased, curious. Very well done.
April 17th, 2012 @ 6:38 am
He is truly a beautiful, wholesome looking guy.
His eyes are so kind.
He’s good looking, and he knows it.
April 19th, 2012 @ 8:16 pm
He is gorgeous. Stunning, actually. I love him.
April 24th, 2012 @ 5:35 pm
Sir Baby!
Oh, he is so handsome.
If I were a cow, I’d be in love.
April 25th, 2012 @ 4:39 am
As I look at this again, I think most people would be intimidated by his look; mean bull is gonna stomp me to death…YIKES! BUT, I’d like to think when you see him, you see the affection in his eyes…seein his anticipation what kind of pat, scratch, or brushing he will get once he gets to your side. :)
April 25th, 2012 @ 12:24 pm
Beautiful natural lighting catch.
April 29th, 2012 @ 2:04 pm
What presence !!
