Rams and bucks.
The studs of the ovines.

For those of you who don’t have the opportunity to analyze the testicles of various animals in your day to day life, I can tell you that rams and bucks have the biggest balls comparative to body size of any animal I have ever seen.
They’re the size of bull balls, but bulls have 1000+ pounds on a ram. If men had balls proportionate to rams, they would not be able to wear pants.
Well, maybe these pants.

You just brought back a fond memory and of course a good chuckle with this post!!! I fell in love afew years ago with a Cheviot Ram named MegaBuck at our local fair, I spent quite abit of time with him that day and talked about him for weeks after our visit…he’s a National Champion now!!! At the time I was able to talk to the li’l gal’s father that raised him as she was in one of the show tents with some ewes she’d raised. I couldn’t believe what a hunk he was but so amazingly gentle…as I’d always heard that rams were aggressive!!! He was then and is still now from what I’ve heard since he was sold and now lives in Montana or Neveda I think a real sweetheart just like his father before him from what the li’l gal’s father told me! He let me pet him and hug him and he talked to me alot. The ewes that were around him had very soft voices but his was incredibly deep like if he was a man he’d sound like Rocky Balboa does… Of course I didn’t mention it to his owners but I couldn’t believe how large his testicles were either!!!! I did say something to my boyfriend about it later and we both had a private laugh…Good lord what a sack he had!!!! ;)

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is great morning reading material. On vacation trips I am always the one checking out the size of other animals “equipment” much to the chagrin of my traveling companions. :)

Never thought I’d request ball pictures on someone’s blog, but let’s see those bad boys! I have a cat who, before he was neutered, had a rather impressive pair. When he would walk away from you with his tail up, you could see them actually bouncing. You could practically hear the AC/DC song playing as he strutted around.

I love the nose wrinkle on the second one!

Not as drastic as the pants you posted, but there’s a company that makes ballroom jeans for men.

Those are beautiful portraits, I especially like the profile on the third one. I’d like to know their breeds though, can you shed some light on that? I’m wondering which have the wrinkly noses and which are the black-faced ones. They’re all handsome! And, he he, yeah… their ‘equipment’ can be pretty impressive! LOL

It is not an easy feat to get me to smile after one cup of coffee, much less laugh. You did both. I am so happy that I now have this information. I fear that I will be checking out animal balls much more frequently now though.

    Forgive me, but I must.

Baa ram ewe! Baa ram ewe! To you breed, your fleece, your clan be true! Sheep be true, baa ram ewe.

I love sheep. They’re such kind, happy, patient creatures.

Have you ever seen a male rat? I understand squirrels are pretty impressive too. But I still think rats are pretty big compared to body size.

That’s quite a variety of sheep. (Was that a goat thrown in?) Do they all live on the farm? I don’t recall seeing many sheep pictures. Just mostly horses and cows.

Are they shorn and spun, woven, knitted and crocheted?

Beautiful portraits. I wish I had friends like these.

(I think my Chinese hamster wins this one, proportionally speaking—they’re about 25% of his total length.)

“My Tribe”?? Are they part of the Farmily or some one else’s you photoed? They appear to be a variety of breeds. Are they all part of one group?
Just think of all the lovely, warm fleece you could get off them.
Sheep and goats are “interesting characters” to know. Never a dull moment and you wouldn’t need a lawn mower.

To answer Qs ~ the white faced ones are rambouillet and the black are suffolk. They live together on a sheep ranch nearby. No goats are pictured. They’re my tribe because I’m an Aries!

I am so pleased someone else noticed… I did once mention it to another woman as we passed a group of rams in a pen and she said “don’t be ridiculous, those are udders”
There were a number of possible answers to this… so I kept quiet.
    Anyway, yeah.

har, i like that other folks notice these things! along the same line, our boar is in a pasture about 200 yards downhill from the garden and i can see his while i’m up there amongst the lettuce and radishes.

Love! One ram on a farm I used to work at would come over to have his chin scratched if we were in his pasture or working on the fence.

Hilarious! My cowboy said to me once when we were herding our bulls, “I wish I had balls like that so I wouldn’t have to carry these around.” Ha! He’s dreamin’!

Have you seen rattie torpedoes? They’re wonderfully large, soft, and squishy. I love them. (I’ve had 28 rats over the years.)

  33. Becky Lynn

Boar balls are also pretty impressive, though not hung in such a saggy sack. They are neatly mounted on the rear end like spare tires sticking out there!

oh look at the SHEEP!!! why is that one dude’s horns not as curly as the other? are they different breeds of sheep or do they just vary that way, like I have curly hair and you don’t?

    wonderful WONDERFUL sheep pictures!!!!!!!

I once saw some male squirrels in Louisiana. Their “nuts” were soooo huge! I swear, if human men had nuts that big, they’d have to walk around with a wheel barrel in front of them to push them around in.

Thank you for the perfect mixture this morning. Comic relief and beautiful pictures ~ much needed. I haven’t read all of the comments above, but I for one want to see a ball pic!! LOL Sorry, I guess I’m a Ram perv because I’m an Aries too!

I love sheep, rams, ewes… . Here is an artist who paints wonderful black faced sheep:

Actually she is fabulous at everything she paints, but I love her sheep, saw some at McLarry Modern gallery in Santa Fe and fell in love!

Beautiful animals!!!!!!! I like sheep, though goats are my weakness.

about testes – Rams are huge, but the large swine they have in Scotland are disproportionately larger – like 2 large cantaloupe in a sack. And yes, as someone above said – male rats. An animal that is less than a pound in weight, and w/o tail is under a foot long, um. Huge.

Ok, why am I thinking about testicles before coffee?

    I love you, Shreve!!!

Ha! I just wrote about “Hammer Pants” today. And how in-fashion they are in Spain and Italy. Of course your pics are stunning.

By the way, being in Rome lately and seeing all these Vespas got Hubs and I talking and wondering about your Vespa Vagabond and looking forward to reading the full story. Hoping there’s a book in the works. ;-)

Just about had water come out my nose I laughed so hard…..That was hilarious and very true. I used to have a ewe and ram (Chico and DL ) they did seem excessively big for such a small animal.
