~ NaNoWriMo starts today ~
I wrote 1487 words while doing laundry this morning, 400 of which were about a vulture landing on a fencepost. Hoping for an end of the day total of 2000…
Otherwise I’ll have to answer to Eli.

That cat is cool! My favorite trick or treaters last night was a kitty cat. She was a tiny human… could have been about the size of Eli. He is huge!!

Today I wrote three words for NaNoWriMo: “There was this dog.” But that’s three more than I’ve written on this book in years. So it was a good day.

There are so many adjectives running through my head right now trying to describe this cat. But you did it the best… task master suits him perfectly. He looks a bit testy, so I would be sure to get your work done. I hate to think of what the wrath of Eli must feel like, so you best get busy!

@ Aleta: Looks to me as if Eli’s got his ears flattened a bit, showing his displeasure at the ever-present camera aimed at Himself (as the Irish say), as well as his sterness about running Shreve’s writing career.

Oh my goodness. I decided to do NaNoWriMo. I started a couple of days late but I am at 4,693 words. I actually think it is going somewhere after lots of words and partial thoughts I organized an actual chapter today. Lots of starts to chapters. It just started flowing. Thank God for airports – that three hour layover in Denver was not wasted. I would not have done this or known about it without your posts :)

He looks like a small lion. Eli just makes me think of Greebo from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series… I can image Eli frightening the local wolf and coyote population and trying to take down an elk all by himself. He is so awesome.

How’s NaNoWriMo going? Part of the fun and challenge of this month is checking in with each other to help keep things rolling along. But I have a feeling you’re going strong on your own. You’ve already learned how to be self-disciplined and focused in your writing. But do you have any tips you can share? Things that work for you?
