I’m spending the winter in the Sierra and woke up to find fresh snow and coyote tracks that went under the cabin, came out and traveled down the hill to check out my car. I just love these brushes with the wild, and your photo of the moose in the willows brought that feeling to the forefront.

Looks like a young one.
I never thing of moose being as far south as you.
I mostly see pictures of them on The Mudflats blog from Alaska. (His name is Brian.)

This is gorgeous! Just today my students were telling me about moose encounters they’d had. I told them, I haven’t seen a moose in the wild yet, but I would love to.

Accidently met a bull moose up close and personal once. Not something I would recommend anyone do except through a telescopic lens. It is amazing how something so large could move so quiet. Fortunately he didn’t concider me a threat and just slowly walked away.

We had two young moose in our off leash area a couple of years ago, they followed the river valley up into the city.

Wow, that is awesome. It makes me feel instantly so calm and serene. You have captured an amazing feeling in that shot.

Beautiful shot.
Being from western Canada, if those are willows those are the scrawniest willows I’ve ever seen…LOL
