Holy Bastet, what a composition. Very, very well done, Shreve.
i recently moved to the boonies in arizona where we have snow and cold winters. it’s nice to go on lock down and cozy up inside. the night sky is incredible. i have two feral cats that live under my house and they are slowly venturing onto my porch for some food and a warmer place to hang out. there is a flock of crows that caw at me every day so i gave them some pop corn and now they are getting very brave.
i was reminded by your photograph of the serenity i feel out here. i think i want a pet duck or two. daddy’s home! lol. i often think about S. and all of you that post on honey rock dawn, i will be looking at the archives for projects to do whilst being a lil bit off the grid. probably won’t put in a cheese cave but there is an old hippie bus down the road. hmmm.

Dear Shreve,
I JUST FINISHED READING the Daily Coyote book!
My grandmother sent it to me from Hawaii, all the way to Berlin, Germany. Some things I would love to express:
1. I started an internship (miserable as hell) and found no inner peace in earning such a low wage for such terrible treatment. When I received your book in the mail, I gained instant inner peace, and was hooked to every word and picture. Since I found no time to read it throughout the day, I would take my opportunity on my metro ride transits (18m each way) and laughed and smiled as the world around me would melt. You and Charlie, and the others have transported me forever to the wilds of Wyoming, and I am so thankful to be a part of your journey. You have inspired me in so many ways to live life to the fullest, and to begin NOW! I quit my internship, found a new one, and cannot wait for life to unfold in such mysterious and beautiful ways. I also new about your blog post through reading it in the book, But I promised myself I would not access the blog UNTIL I am through with the book. Now, I can follow “daily” your wonderful life in Wyoming and Charlie too…I would purchase a calendar, but simply can’t afford it! lol! The pictures and the book will do for now.

Additionally, (regarding the photo) I cannot wait to see blue skies over grim Berlin. It’s been mostly dark and dirty white…the color blue is my favorite, the way it is represented in nature is vast, invigorating, and soulful. Thank you for capturing it! Speaks right to my soul.

So glad you discovered “Daily Coyote” and the blog. It has been a transport for me also to a simpler way of thinking/peace/beauty, and the color blue—my favorite also.

It’s starting to snow here in Connecticut right now.
Slow start. I can see each flake as it spins and pirouettes. Individual choreography, each as unique as each flake, passing by my window, flitting about, like a child calling me out to play…
