OMG what a gorgeous calf!!!!
March 27th, 2013 @ 7:58 am
I’ve never seen a gray cow before!! Is this rare and will it stay this beautiful color? It’s quite silvery.
March 27th, 2013 @ 7:58 am
Perfection. Hope you entertain the idea of a ‘name’ contest again. It was a lot of fun to read through the posts.
Hug that beautiful baby for all of us.
March 27th, 2013 @ 8:00 am
hello, beautiful!
March 27th, 2013 @ 8:19 am
awe! squeezable!
March 27th, 2013 @ 8:24 am
Adorable!!! I agree with Marg that I have never seen a silver gray like this before, either. Would be so awesome if he/she would stay this color. Beautiful. Almost looks like a little lamb looking at the camera. What fun just before Easter!
March 27th, 2013 @ 8:25 am
Oh the cuteness!
March 27th, 2013 @ 8:46 am
I NEED this baby cow!!
March 27th, 2013 @ 9:31 am

March 27th, 2013 @ 9:43 am
What a precious, adorable baby. Want to hug this baby. Sweet.
March 27th, 2013 @ 9:45 am
Shreve-
I looked at this amazing photo for a few moments and suddenly thought about a paragraph in “The Daily Coyote” where you speak so beautifully about Easter.
You and your animals are indeed a daily blessing for so many.
Happy Easter Shreve.
March 27th, 2013 @ 10:20 am
My first thought was “Awww, cute!”
My second thought… Gray… Poupon! Cute calf name? *sillyness*
March 27th, 2013 @ 10:35 am
boy or girl? how common is that color?is there a name for it? so neat!
March 27th, 2013 @ 11:23 am
beautiful! is it a boy or girl, and will you be keeping it? i know you can’t keep them all, but you are putting together such a uniquely verigated herd — a nice departure from basic black.
March 27th, 2013 @ 12:52 pm
How adorable! Look at that forehead swirl!!!!
March 27th, 2013 @ 1:06 pm
names? Foxy like a gray fox
Wolf – like a grey wolf
Pewter – like the metal
Sterling…well, you know..
March 27th, 2013 @ 1:52 pm
Oh my! How adorable!!
Great photo :):)
March 27th, 2013 @ 1:53 pm
what a li’l darlin’!! at our local fair each year we always go through the cow barns to see all the cows and calves and the Brown Swiss have always been my favorite…then the Jersey’s are next….alot of the Brown Swiss seem more grey to me then actually brown…especially the babies….since this one is so unique will you add it to the your farmily? ;-)
March 27th, 2013 @ 2:42 pm
Related to the White Buffalo??
March 27th, 2013 @ 3:02 pm
Wow!!! What a beautiful addition to the farmily!! Anxious to hear a name for this calf!
March 27th, 2013 @ 3:35 pm

March 27th, 2013 @ 3:48 pm

March 27th, 2013 @ 4:54 pm

March 27th, 2013 @ 5:26 pm
Looks like a giant lamb :)
March 27th, 2013 @ 5:33 pm
*gasp* oh. oh oh oh. so perfect!

March 27th, 2013 @ 5:55 pm

March 27th, 2013 @ 6:31 pm
OMG – made me cry out from adorableness!!!! All the cows and babies are cute but this – left me speechless!! Hmmm, just placed a print order…… I might need to start collecting pics of the cows/babies!!
March 27th, 2013 @ 6:54 pm
What a beautiful…girl?
Definitely a keeper.
Is Sir Baby the Father? Who’s the Mother?
Isn’t genetics fun?
March 27th, 2013 @ 7:10 pm
AHHHMAHGAWWWWD! I am kind of obsessed with gray animals. That calf is too beautiful.
March 27th, 2013 @ 7:46 pm
My first thought was ‘that’s the dirtiest lamb I’ve ever seen!’ :D
Too cute for words.
(and I don’t recommend anyone google imaging grey calf – one word: boots) Most unbecoming this beautifully cute post.
March 27th, 2013 @ 10:01 pm
oh my gosh….I can’t believe how pretty this baby is. WOW! How I wish I could nom on those ears ;)
March 27th, 2013 @ 10:16 pm
Want. I need one of these immediately. I have so many pictures of gray cows from my travels in Bangladesh. I’ve never seen one in America, and now that I know there is one, I must have it. If you do nothing but post pictures of this cow every day for the next year, this will still be my favorite blog on the internet. Just saying…
March 28th, 2013 @ 7:05 am
I have never seen a gray cow before….I wonder if he will stay that color or if he will darken with age. I know my cat has had gray/silver kittens before, but they always blacken as they get older. As for names…the first name that popped into my head was Mercury!
March 28th, 2013 @ 8:23 am
I’m over 80, have lived in the West for years, and traveled in nearly every state…never heard of, or saw, a grey calf. Do you think the color will stay true…or change as Siamese kittens do…born white before they get their color? It’s beautiful for sure! Thanks for sharing…the calf and so much more that make my day.
March 28th, 2013 @ 11:02 am
I can hardly stand the cuteness factor going on here. Absolutely adorable.
March 28th, 2013 @ 11:03 am
Looks more like silver…and breathtaking!
March 28th, 2013 @ 12:45 pm
Soo cute!!
March 29th, 2013 @ 8:29 am
So pretty! Who had this baby? Is it male or female? Is grey uncommon?
March 29th, 2013 @ 8:58 am
Christian would be a good name, after 50 shades of gray…..now that will get the blood pumping ;)
March 29th, 2013 @ 11:42 am
I think I go back and look at this calf every day…makes me smile:) I like Christine’s thoughts for names…Pewter or Sterling. If it’s a girl…what about Graycie??
March 29th, 2013 @ 5:14 pm
So precious and beautiful!! I look at that baby and name pop up like – Khaki, or Galena or Shroom!
March 29th, 2013 @ 6:51 pm
YAY! I have to admit I was a little disappointed to see Fiona’s black calf, was hoping for another redhead! This grey baby is absolutely gorgeous, how fantastically fun! Sending much love your way.
March 31st, 2013 @ 6:22 am
I’m with many others that already posted. I’ve never seen such a stunning color on a calf/cow before. I hope the Sterling Silver color stays! It’s so striking. <3
March 31st, 2013 @ 8:24 pm
Greyson.
Perfection in every way!
March 31st, 2013 @ 8:27 pm
On another note…I keep missing out on the antler chews! Will you be getting anymore in anytime soon? I have a few puppy dawgs that would love ’em.
April 1st, 2013 @ 7:56 am
D ~ next week!
April 1st, 2013 @ 2:07 pm
Thanks, Shreve…I’m making notes all over the place to remind myself to look for the chews next week in the shop!
BTW, that was a most excellent April Fool you pulled!
Tee-Hee-Hee!
April 2nd, 2013 @ 8:33 pm
Oh, my! I want to love all over that one. *squee**
April 3rd, 2013 @ 2:51 pm
It has been a couple of weeks since I have been on your site, and this picture is just the bestest. What a sweetheart, and Grey calf..how exquisite…much love to all…
April 3rd, 2013 @ 3:37 pm
There is a breed called the Murray Grey which I have seen at shows here in England, very lovely, velvety cattle.
April 4th, 2013 @ 7:43 pm
Beautiful, beautiful baby! Thanks so much for letting us see this sweetie.
December 10th, 2014 @ 5:22 am
I’m going back and catching up on posts (it appears I’ve missed a lot) and I was wondering what ever happened to the gray baby? I haven’t seen any updates recently, and he is so cute. :)
