Wyoming Tough
☆ April 10, 2013
Just an April (snow) shower.
Don’t pity Frisco ~
I slept with my door open the night of this snow dump.
We’re tough out here.

icicles on frisco’s ears?! man, that is a heck of an april! is it weird that i wanna snuggle up to him?
April 10th, 2013 @ 7:22 am
Well, Shreve, I’m sorry but Frisco looks pitiful.
:-) the only good thing is that all this snow will be gone very soon .
April 10th, 2013 @ 7:43 am
Well, he does have a look to his eye like
“WTH! It is APRIL! This is ridiculous! I have icicles on my EAR! Where is the SOFT GREEN SPRING grass I’m supposed to be chewing? Huh?”
Add a hoof stomp there too if you like….
But on the other hand, just think of all the good water you will have from the melt? This has been a strange spring. This afternoon’s high in N. Texas is going to be 42. I’m in a winter sweater again…. From 80 yesterday to a low of 34 tonight.
April 10th, 2013 @ 8:06 am
Awwww! Kisses for Frisco! S, you ARE tough! Slept with the door open? Noooo thank you. lol!
Like I said on Twitter, I am tired of the snow and I hope we won’t have to drive in it during our trip out to SLC later this month.
I know I’ll only see a small part of Wyoming via I-80, but I cannot wait to see and touch the red earth for the first time. :D

Frisco dreams of the life of a Brahma bull.
April 10th, 2013 @ 8:43 am
And we have been complaining about the couple of inches we got!! I am so tired of this winter, it has gone on forever even though it has been a fairly mild one for us. Guess I don’t mind the cold too much though as we are off to Iceland next month, could get hot instantly there however if the volcanoes act up. Beautiful pictures Shreve, I like the sepia tones.
April 10th, 2013 @ 8:43 am
wow – just how much snow is that? it looks like it’s up to his shoulders. those are fabulous pictures! He looks like he’s got a pretty thick coat.
April 10th, 2013 @ 9:49 am
There should be a new word created other than tough. Those pictures are incredible. (brr)
April 10th, 2013 @ 10:42 am
Wow, I love the closeup of the icicles on his ear! I thought of you when I saw the weather on the news the other night – friends and family in CO, you in WY, and the radar showing snow over it all. SoCal is beautiful as usual, but it’s kind of boring. I could go for some unexpected snow.
April 10th, 2013 @ 11:34 am
In the 2nd picture he looks dangerously beautiful. Love it.
April 10th, 2013 @ 12:20 pm
Frisco is tough, indeed! Great photos.
Hope the boy warms up and dries out soon.
We had steady snow yesterday here in the metro Denver area, along with nasty cold winds, but I made it to work and back on the bus and on foot (many of my colleagues who drive cars didn’t manage that!)
April 10th, 2013 @ 12:58 pm
but what about all the BABIES?? what about Fiona’s baby and little grey baby?? I know, I’m sure they are fine too. Wow. Wonderful pictures as always. I really wish I could pet his nose.
April 10th, 2013 @ 2:09 pm
Oh my! 72 in NYC. Of course that won’t last long. As for another word for tough, the picture is worth a thousand.
April 10th, 2013 @ 2:25 pm
Not really digging the snow, but these pictures are amazing! As for leaving the door open…most of America can’t even leave the door unlocked!! Ha! Door open…snow…gotta love it!
April 10th, 2013 @ 2:33 pm
Brain freeze!
April 10th, 2013 @ 3:02 pm
Always a good sign when the snow is sitting on top of the hair not melted. Means it’s doing what God intended.
April 10th, 2013 @ 3:27 pm
a good by-line for your beef!
April 10th, 2013 @ 6:56 pm
Looks waaayyy to cold for me. Frisco’s expression is he’s really over the snow & cold. The pic of him with icicles on his ear is way kool. S, you are tough leaving your door open at night. But why? :)
April 10th, 2013 @ 6:58 pm
I want to put a blanket on him and kiss him on the nose! You all are VERY tough. Waaaayyyy tougher than me. Stay warm!
April 10th, 2013 @ 9:19 pm
how is your fire wood supply holding up? won’t be long now for the warm up to begin. hang in there frisco.
April 11th, 2013 @ 5:44 am
Really? He’s OK? He doesn’t want to come inside???
April 11th, 2013 @ 3:31 pm
I’d say that expression on his face is “we are NOT amused.” Or possibly, “Take the damn picture. Fine. THEN get this blankety-blank icicle off my ear, willya???”
April 11th, 2013 @ 3:48 pm
Love the icicles.
April 11th, 2013 @ 4:09 pm
Oh, gorgeous: black & white, Farmily style. Frisco looks quite the stoic, but still ready for spring to arrive.
April 12th, 2013 @ 8:05 am
Love his kind eyes,
April 12th, 2013 @ 11:54 am
Earcicles!
April 13th, 2013 @ 12:15 pm
Volumes of interest and info in these two shots. Severity of the weather, the hugeness of the bull, the massive square snout and the icicles on the ears scream brute strength and danger, and it’s just a trip to realize he’s probably loving the weather, and he’s sheer putty in your hands, love bug that he is. A brute of a love bug, but a love bug all the same. Gorgeous shots!
April 14th, 2013 @ 11:30 am
Brrr, I’m still cold when I look at these pix! Sure hope the weather has improved since these were shot.
Shreve, thanks for sending the antler chews so pronto! Got ’em and Daisy is enjoying hers in Brooklyn. Bailey (new pup my boss got) will get hers tomorrow.
April 17th, 2013 @ 7:37 pm
I was just searching for this information for some time. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your website. I wonder what’s the lack of Google strategy that do not rank this type of informative sites in top of the list. Generally the top sites are full of garbage.

Beautiful. We had April snow here, too.
Our sheep are outside for all of our cold Canadian winter. Covered in crusts of snow and ice, they’re munching away. Plunge your fingers through the wool and they’re warm as can be.
I have pity for the animals trapped in boring barns all winter. So many more adventures to be had outside! Not mention, fresh air and a nice view.
