February 25th, 2014 @ 12:13 pm
Gorgeous! I’d never make it out there, though – just looking at this picture makes me want to run for the nearest clump of trees. So much sky! Perhaps I was a squirrel in another life.
February 25th, 2014 @ 12:54 pm
I want to be there!! Absolutely gorgeous !
February 25th, 2014 @ 12:56 pm
I watched a show yesterday where people rode Vespas and I told my daughter how you had gone from SF to NY on one.

Oh. My. Colors, composition… this has to be in your top 5 landscape shots that I’ve seen, and it had some serious competition.
Thank you, Shreve.
February 25th, 2014 @ 2:46 pm
magnificent!!!!
February 25th, 2014 @ 2:53 pm
Would you ever think about selling this photo? Because if yes, I’d love to have a copy in my office. Please let me know.
Thanks.

February 26th, 2014 @ 2:53 am
Wow!!! Beautiful!!! Love that sky!!!!
February 26th, 2014 @ 6:17 am
I’ve been an Easterner all my life, but in 2012 I took a vacation in New Mexico and last Christmas week I was in Sedona and the Grand Canyon. I must say, the landscapes out there sure beat suburban and city living on the East Coast. Beautiful.
February 26th, 2014 @ 7:40 am
You sure do live in a beautiful place! thank you for sharing with us.
February 26th, 2014 @ 9:15 am
Love big sky country. It could be tough if the wind is up though. It’s a beautiful shot.
February 26th, 2014 @ 9:23 am
It’s good to find some positive in this winter that we’ve all hated so much and you found a super beautiful scene to capture. Bring on spring though.
February 26th, 2014 @ 11:27 am
Glorious!
February 26th, 2014 @ 9:08 pm
Did you mess with the color in Photoshop, or is that really how clean and clear the air is out there???
February 26th, 2014 @ 10:23 pm
Wow! Looks likes there’s a storm brewing overhead:(
February 27th, 2014 @ 9:24 am
@ Deborah – It mostlikely is the result of using a polarizing filter to deepen the blues and create the contrasts in the clouds. I have some background in film photography so not exactly sure how filters work in digital.
February 27th, 2014 @ 10:27 am
D & T ~ No photoshop, promise! No filter on the camera, either, as it wasn’t even a real camera – I took this shot out the window of a moving truck with my cellphone. OMG!
February 27th, 2014 @ 10:28 am
Had to add – I wasn’t driving :)
February 27th, 2014 @ 12:30 pm
An absolutely beautiful photo–all the different colors and textures of the landscape and shapes of the clouds! A candidate for your calendar next year!?
February 27th, 2014 @ 2:42 pm
Last time you took one with a cell phone it was excellent too, hmmm maybe I should get one of those horrible pieces of equipment.
February 27th, 2014 @ 4:12 pm
Hi Shreve, I’ve been enjoying catching up on your blogs posts after an unplanned extended hospital stay, and something in one of your pictures reminded me of the grey baby calf. Do you still have her? Is she still grey?
:)
February 27th, 2014 @ 10:41 pm
Shreve – here’s a beautiful time lapse of Wyoming.
February 28th, 2014 @ 9:17 am
J ~ Gray baby went back to live at her owner’s place, she’s doing beautifully but has faded to a tan/greige color.
K ~ LOVE that, really amazing photography

Born in the south grew up in the south
still southern at heart
But got to live in the WEST
And that picture is similar to one of the reasons why.
