Makes me miss my Plucky boy. My sister and I found duck eggs when we were little and tried to hatch them at home. After a few days, it became apparent to my parents that they were not going to hatch, so my dad went to a feed store to see if they had any ducklings. They didn’t, but they had chicks, and he figured (correctly) we wouldn’t know the difference. Plucky looked exactly like that, and he loved to ride around on my dad’s head.

He eventually left us for a farm (an actual farm! not the one your parents tell you your dead dog went to live on) when he began to crow incessantly every morning. Our suburban neighbors were not impressed with his vocal prowess and amazing feather headdress. I knew he’d be okay when we released him into the yard and he immediately began trying to make little Pluckys with every hen in the place. Destiny fulfilled, little man!

Wow – stunning! No wonder people like chickies so much, especially these. Chloe must be completely mesmerized by these flashy cluckers (ha – be careful how you say that). I can just see her at the enclosure, if they’re still in there, mesmerized by their every move. If they’re out of the enclosure, does she follow them around? Truly a glorious photo.

They remind me of some ancient warrior tribe from the deep jungle who probably used these guys as their inspiration. If I had chickens these would definitely be on my list to have.

love them!!!! Kirk and I just received our baby chicks two weeks ago and one of them is a white-crested black Polish, she was a gift from the place I ordered them from as a bonus! I knew I would be getting an extra one and they said it would be an exotic breed but I wouldn’t know until they arrived….as soon as I opened the box and saw her with her li’l blonde fluffy head I thought of you and your Poufs!!! :) I named her Shreve and of course she has become my favorite… have a wonderful day!!!!!

Beautiful chickens! They are nothing like the white chickens my grandmother had in her back yard. They were much more ordinary looking chickens. Your chickens remind me of highly paid show girls!
