We have had the LARGEST spiders, crickets and grasshoppers invade our home this week!!!
And the grasshoppers! The beagles LOVE to eat them, but sadly, the grasshoppers make them sick every year. Still dogs!

Ah, serenity.

Ha ha! Where I live most spiders spend all year indoors. I had one in my shower for what seemed like several years, and when I cleaned (not very often) I tried to not disturb it. It got out of the way of the water; but one day it was gone. Just gone.

Except for the part that comes after, this is my favorite season I think. The sky becomes a deeper blue and the colors are so bright against it. There is anticipation in the air and the birds are grouping to head south, the squirrels are storing food for the winter and people are storing wood just in case….

In LA our big month for spiders is August, when you are also walking into spider silk.

Whoops! I meant, “always” walking into spider silk.

Where I am the only things that seem to invade the house in the winter are the field mice.
In the summer, we can get ants seeking water. Especially in the drought.

Wow, looks like my view from my office (vehicle). People ask what I do, and I say I drive in circles looking for imaginary lines in the grass. Actually, GPSing roads and alleged roads in BLM land. I was lucky enough to work in your area in July, but south toward Lander. Loved the country!

K ~ yep! that there is considered a road out here.

No problem. Enjoy the fall!
