Yep. Spring calves do best in most parts of the country, along with spring kids and lambs. Fawns who come to the feeder with their mom appear to have been born in the fall, though. Not sure why they’re out of sync. They look to be five, six months old tops. Javelina are a threesome, so far. Not sure what their schedule will be, yet. Have only been in this neighborhood a few months.

May all the calves be born live and without complications and may all the mamas be happy, healthy and loving.

Be honest – calf nose velvet: softer or less soft than coyote ear velvet?

NorCal had some stellar weather in February; I rode my bike around in the country, taking in the delicate beauty and heavenly scent of the almond orchards in full bloom. Shortly after I saw tiny lambs and goats frolicking with their mothers and each other. Calves have been coming since January (we have the best grass Dec-April so the cows birth then). I think late winter/early spring is my favorite time of year. I look forward to your new baby pictures, Shreve.

May all your calves be strong and healthy and your mamas good parents.
