Training has commenced!
☆ August 21, 2011
We started out in a round corral; this was our first haltered walk in the great wide open. She did great! She’s so cute. Can you believe those neck rolls??

Training! Fiona? I thought Frisco was going to be the cart boy. What will Fiona do? She is so adorable.

Fionna has grown so fast. She’s so cute.

Not many things more huggable than a baby bovine!
She looks stunning in the red halter, it makes her eyes pop. ;)

She’s so cute!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 6:56 am
She is an oversized puppy! absolutely adorable!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 7:34 am
Such a pose on that first photo!
I agree, Cassie – an “oversized puppy” and “absolutely adorable.”
…And in keeping w/Scotty’s hilarious Valley Girl monologue: “So like, do these neck rolls make my butt look big?”
August 22nd, 2011 @ 7:43 am
Too cute. I would love to be there and give her hugs & kisses.

I love this website Shreve, not just for you but for your witty admirers! I must say though that Fiona looks a bit bored by the whole thing, maybe she’s ready for some jumps or something.
August 22nd, 2011 @ 8:28 am
Velvety gorgeousness! What luscious sunshine too. Have fun training that sweet baby!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 8:37 am
Fiona is just precious!!!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 8:45 am
What a diva! She looks like she’s actually posing for pictures. So fabulous! :)
August 22nd, 2011 @ 8:54 am
I love how she blends into the grass.
August 22nd, 2011 @ 9:06 am
So very lovely. And getting bigger all the time. Love the contrast between her cinnamon red and the sky…

if i may share: i was just reading the comments here and one of my co workers yelled out that there was a coyote outside our building! we are in sw wyoming outside of ‘city’ limits about 2 miles with nothing but land and sage brush around us-he was walking right outside our building-we watched him just walk along the fence next to us and then we saw another one!! very exciting.
anyway, Fiona is a beautiful girl and does seem like a big ‘puppy’!

She is so Substantial looking! How gorgeous! She looks like she’ll be a good milk cow, just in personality alone.
August 22nd, 2011 @ 10:22 am
Neck rolls, that’s what I will call my triple chins from now on, or my Fiona’s !!!!!!!!!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 10:55 am
Doesn’t look like much training is going to be necessary. Fiona’s going to be a sweet girl and all you’ll have to do is ask. How velvety she looks! I’d love to bury my face in her neck rolls!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 11:01 am
OH such a kissy face!!! Do cows smell good like horses? I bury my face in my horses neck and the smell is fantastic—-wish I could bottle it and take it to work to de-stress!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 11:13 am
Aww– cute! What’s with Fiona licking her nose with her tongue in the last photo? Funny!
To Deanna: Dairy cows need to be halter-trained so you can handle them for milking, that’s all.
August 22nd, 2011 @ 11:15 am
Will you ride her some day? Like Luna the cow?
August 22nd, 2011 @ 11:40 am
Sweet Fiona! http://tinyurl.com/3vwu7f7
August 22nd, 2011 @ 11:44 am
Fiona is stunning – she is also flirting with the camera!
You’re photos never cease to amaze me.
August 22nd, 2011 @ 11:47 am
She is adorable : )
August 22nd, 2011 @ 12:17 pm
One thing I notice about all your Farmily pictures is that they are all SO SO CLEAN. Daisy is the most beautiful creamy white thing ever and little Fiona… even Frisco is all shiny black and spotless! I can’t help but think that is the natural way for them – all the grungy farm animals I am used to seeing is because they aren’t being kept properly. I love seeing the Farmily!!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 12:41 pm
these stunning photos of yours are not helping my desire to have a cow!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 1:50 pm
what exactly is she training you to do?
August 22nd, 2011 @ 1:58 pm
Carol – my thought exactly…..
She is such a pretty girlie girl.
August 22nd, 2011 @ 3:55 pm
lol Carol…she is training Shreve to spoil her and make her into a fine dairy cow!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 4:21 pm
She is seriously the cutest cow creature I’ve ever seen. I want to jump into that photo and cuddle with her!!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 5:03 pm
What a sweet little chunklet! Daisy milk is obviously some good stuff.
August 22nd, 2011 @ 5:25 pm
She has very elegant little hind legs. ^^ But how do those little hooves hold her up!? They look so tiny in comparison to her (very ladylike) girth. :P
August 22nd, 2011 @ 8:20 pm
ok, just had a question pop in my little head that maybe someone can answer. Do you have to trim cow hooves like you do horses?
August 22nd, 2011 @ 8:31 pm
Fiona is just not fit to be tied… she’s too pretty for that!
August 22nd, 2011 @ 8:43 pm
Fiona, what a natural beauty…Dana, we had cows when I was young and never remember trimmimg the hooves…horses yes !
August 22nd, 2011 @ 9:07 pm
Hmmmm. The song “Walk this Way” comes to mind right now! And I agree with Sherry about how clean the farmily always looks.
August 22nd, 2011 @ 9:44 pm
Excellent word, “chunklet,” Wyomama! I do believe I’ll just add that to my vocab. Hmmm… maybe “chunklette” applies to this precious one, whaddayathink?
August 23rd, 2011 @ 6:11 am
Thanks Carmel! I could never remember anyone ever mentioning trimming a cows hooves. I figured since they are cloven there is not need, but was just curious.
August 23rd, 2011 @ 9:35 am
Oh my GOODNESS how darling is SHE???!! Quite the bonniest cow I ever did see!
August 23rd, 2011 @ 10:53 am
I forgot to ask … do you worry about your large animal family when you go to town? Do they have shelter of some kind up there? Apparently there are lots of coyotes roaming those mountains. :)
August 23rd, 2011 @ 2:07 pm
Ah! Thank you, Pat D.
August 24th, 2011 @ 12:54 am
Well this type of cuteness is just over the top! The neck rolls indeed, look at the side eyed glance and that cute pink tongue as she licks her lips. I could not stop hugging her, she is beyond sweet. I bet she eventually gives you magical milk.
August 24th, 2011 @ 12:21 pm
Gosh, had to pop back here one more time … Fiona is the loveliest little cow person. I have a feeling a book is in the works. I can’t wait for your next one to come out.
August 24th, 2011 @ 5:19 pm
Oh, to be a calf and loved for those rolls!
August 24th, 2011 @ 8:59 pm
What a BEAUTY!!! Gorgeous girl….. Love the cute tongue. Thanks for the pictures!! :)
August 24th, 2011 @ 9:46 pm
Does she come when you call her?
August 25th, 2011 @ 7:16 am
Dang, she is gorgeous!
August 25th, 2011 @ 7:25 pm
Oh my gosh, she is adorable. Who would have thought a cow could be so so adorable! Love at first sight.
August 29th, 2011 @ 2:56 pm
