33 in Fort Worth area this morning, but the sun is gong to be shining. Love seeing the snow, but would not want to live in it. How’s the writing going?

Yes it is, for you there. We are still clinging to Fall here though…I still have a few leaves on the trees. The dusting of snow in the mountains around us is definitely an indication that Fall is on its way out soon.

What’s the news on Daisy’s adopted calf from this summer? Did she get a name? How’s Fiona? Sir Baby?

Mom and Dad have a new red baby. They named her Maple because she is the color of a red maple tree leaf.

Wow, so beautiful. I resist winter terribly (I work mainly outside) until it finally comes and then I relax and just enjoy it.

Drove across Wyoming on Saturday. Blowing snow, all overpasses frozen with black ice regardless how short they were. semi’s fishtailing in front of us, pickups doing 360’s behind us. When we stopped to let the defroster catch up on the windshield from all the frozen drizzle, we found we were locked in the ice encased car. Good times. MOntana was a dream to get home to.

Winter is wonderful, I got into cross country skiing a number of years back. Silence, crisp snow, and exercise. I do miss summer however so here is a old joke for you:

The Beat-master on a old Greek sailing trimaran woke up the oarsmen and said “Well boys got some good news and bad news, The good news is bacon and eggs for breakfast ( few tired yea’s went up)For supper we have steak, fresh veggies, a woman for every man, all kinds of wine@spirits you can drink, and you can sleep till noon tomorrow” Cheers rent the air. After breakfast was over a old man in bedraggled clothing asked the beat-master, “So what is the bad news”. “Oh” the beat-master replied, “The Captain wants to get in 4 hours of water skiing with the girls”

Wow!! How pretty! I love seeing snow pictures. I even like taking pictures in the snow, but after living in upstate NY for over a year, and going through 2 harsh winters, I just can’t stand the snow anymore. I really admire those who live in areas where they get heaps of snow like this, along with the freezing temperatures. I experienced it, and I didn’t like it. I’m too much of a Washingtonian I guess. Love my green and rain.

What a beautiful start for the winter. I love looking at snow pics of mountains and when it might snow in low elevation. Periodically we get snow in the desert and what a sight. Saguaro, joshua, mesquite trees and all other desert plants are beautiful sprinkled with snow.
