The color of NEW leaves is so bright and cheerful. It’s like looking at a sun rise…

The miracle of spring!

It’s taken a very long time, but the trees around our house have AT LAST put out leaves! Hurray! It was strange having snow on May Day here in the Denver metro area, and still seeing only the evergreens looking green.

it does seem like we go from bare trees to leaves overnight! wonderful and crazy wyoming seasons! about mid april we had wild weather with a low of 8 degrees and then end of april i could see my garlic pop up through the straw cover!! any sign of green is a lovely sight!

Nature’s first green is gold,
her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower, but only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf, so Eden sank to grief. As Dawn goes down to day, nothing gold can stay.

I love the lime green new leaves of early spring, and they’re late here, too – just popped out. Especially lovely this year as we have the backdrop of snow-covered peaks near Boulder. Thanks for the gorgeous shot!

Lime tree?

i so love the spring green. Here in northern california we seem to have sped thru spring, sadly. it was green for about 3 weeks, and then heat hit, and we are golden grass all over. lovely brief storm today, though, cooled things off and i could pretend we still had weeks of that to go.
thanks for the reminder.

Coming down the Palisades in the late afternoon last week, the sun was hitting the trees from the side. They were glowing chartreuse.
