I wanna hug one too (minus some concern about the pointy bit on the end)!
Couple weeks ago while out for a walk, we saw a pair standing in a neighbors front yard. We were just standing there, within 20-30 feet of the road. They are so beautiful up close! Very majestic. Also learned just how loud they are. They decided they weren’t happy with us being that close, and let us know about it very vocally. OMG, so LOUD! Quite a treat to see and hear them that close.

Beautiful shots, Shreve. The gold and lilac background provides the perfect foil for this beautiful crane. It really is a stunning bird, isn’t it?
I was curious about the striking red marking near the crane’s eyes and found this:

There are so many birds and animals I’d love to hug. I think first on my list would be Charlie, hehe.

Oh me too!!!! Their call is one of the most relaxing heart swelling sounds on this earth. I was watching an episode of “Long Lost Family” recently, and as they filmed the host arriving at the person’s house in Florida, there were several just walking around the neighborhood in the shots. Unfortunately on my side of the mountains in Washington they don’t do that. I have to go East to see them. Lucky girl!

Such stunning beauty! I can see why they chose your home as their own; I would, too, if I could. Long may you enjoy each other in peace and joy!

I understand the sentiment. I was driving the other day and passed a small family unit out foraging in a field. The youngin’ was so adorable. They mostly just pass through in our area of northeast Indiana unless a baby crane happens. :)
